Notion Postgraduate Student Template

Designed for postgraduates, by a postgraduate!

This template has been designed by me during my PhD journey, after becoming frustrated by the lack of options for postgrads currently available, as well as spending countless hours trying to get several different productivity apps to perfectly suit my needs. It combines the 'Getting Things Done' method (https://gettingthingsdone.com/), with a daily lab book, meeting log, personal wiki and reference database. Through the use of 'master' pages and customisable dashboards, it has been designed to be as flexible as possible to cater to students from all subject areas, and to avoid the dreaded 'Plancrastination' cycle that I'm sure all postgraduates have faced at some point in their life 

The template contains five pages: 

1. Postgraduate Student Dashboard 

   1. The central hub, combining GTD planning, a lab book for daily progress monitoring and reflection, as well as a meeting log, and a basic thesis completion plan

2. Master GTD Spreadsheet 

   1. The database from which the postgraduate student dashboard pulls its custom views. Fully customisable to suit your needs, with some examples to get you started

3. Reference Database 

   1. An area to capture abstracts / full notes from your reading, with a few example pages from my own discipline to give you some examples of how to customise the page for your own needs 

4. Master Personal Wiki 

   1. A place to capture definitions, software, resources, training, summary notes, whatever you need it for! Left populated with some of my own notes to show the utility of the page and...

5. Personal Wiki Dashboard 

   1. A fully customisable page that uses a series of linked database views to allow you to visualise your notes however works best for you. I have provided two example views to get you started
